The Hacienda Location
The Hacienda Messanges is located between Moliets and Messanges on the Atlantic west-coast of France (Cote d’Argent).
Our property measures 4000m², has a pony farm as the only direct neighbor and one street leading directly to the beautiful pine forest. After following this street for 2 km and walking over the dunes you reach the beautiful uncrowded beaches of les Landes.
Les Landes offers a multitude of opportunities of activities, hiking and cycling paths nearby. You will find in particular the cycling path 3mts from the house.
The Swimming pool & Sundeck
Surrounded by palm trees, the heated swimming pool is an exotic little paradise, you will appreciate the wooden terrace which surrounds it and can relax in the deckchairs, the hammocks, or on the grass in the garden.
For your safety and that of your children and in accordance with the law, it is equipped with a alarm system.
To cool off or rinse off after surfing, Chris has built a natural outdoor shower surrounded by bamboo.
The Lounge
As the masterpiece of our house, we spent most of the renovation work in the living room, especially by opening up the roof which was a real challenge!
Here you can escape the heat in summer or in the winter sit at the fire place to warm up with cup of hot chocolate. The living room is equipped with a sound system, a video projector with a 3m wide screen, a bookcase full of travel books and other genres, a corner with an office desk, board games and much more. We are happy to offer you the variety of these options to enjoy your quiet moments more.
We spent months strolling on flea markets looking for the perfect interior and decorations for our house. We’ve had a lot of pleasure to renovate each piece of furniture and object that decorates the house which gives it its unique look.
Opposite of the lounge, you will discover the “home-made” bar. Which is composed out of two pieces of antique furniture, one the Teak bar and the other the ornament above it, coming from the boat “Ruben”, a Panamanian cargo ship, which stranded on the beach of Seignosse in 1976! Details of this story are to be found at bar 😉
But also… a secret door of “Narnia”, a seating corner with benches made out of Morgane’s childhood bed, a beautiful clock from the era “belle epoque”, an office corner and lots more.
The Terrace
Facing south, the terrace which makes the charm of the Hacienda, allows you to enjoy the shade while being outside. This is a perfect place for reading or dining in a cool place. The roof over the terrace keeps a pleasant temperature in the family rooms which are adjacent to it. The terrace immediately reminds us of the typical Louisiana patio where we like to sit on the sofa’s and have good conversations in the evenings.
The Garden and our playground
Children from 7 to 77 years old 😉 are welcome at the Hacienda and we have a large variety of games for you to enjoy: the tree house, ping pong (table tennis), mini billiards, darts, fancy dress and costume basket, boules, diabolo and many more games. This is just a short summary of everything we have at your disposal for young and old to entertain themselves! The parking is secured by a fence, which allows the children to enjoy the garden peacefully. Happy children, content parents!
